Goldsmiths warmly welcomes students from Mexico. There are currently around 25 Mexican students studying on Goldsmiths’ undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes.

What are they studying?

Mexican students are following a range of degree subjects at Goldsmiths, including Media and Communications, Cultural Studies, Music, Art, Design, and Drama.

Mexican students are also eligible to join our study abroad programme - ‘Study in London’, which gives international students the opportunity to live, study and socialise with Goldsmiths’ undergraduate students for one or two terms, or the full academic year and transfer their credit back to their home university. You can also be admitted as a postgraduate student.


Programmes

Goldsmiths offers courses in a wide range of study areas, including art & design, anthropology, creative & cultural entrepreneurship, computing, cultural studies, education, English & linguistics, drama, history, media & communications, music, politics, psychology, sociology, social work and visual cultures.

Entry requirements

All applications are usually considered on individual merit and we accept a wide range of qualifications from all over the world. Please check the most common entry requirements for Mexico here.

Local representatives in Mexico

If you need a little extra help and advice, you can choose to visit an overseas representative appointed by Goldsmiths in your country.


Fees and Funding

Goldsmiths has a series of scholarships for international students applying for postgraduate and research programmes. Postgraduate students may also be eligible for the Alumni Discounts Scheme.

There is a scholarship from Mexican Council for the Development of Science and Technology available specifically for students in Mexico. For further information, please see International Postgraduate Scholarships.

British Council

For details of other scholarships which may be available for you in Mexico, you should refer to the British Council website.

The Mary Trevelyan Fund is a hardship fund available to students from certain countries who have found themselves in unexpected financial difficulties during the final year of their studies in London.


Visits to Mexico 

The International Office team visit Mexico at least once a year to take part in the British Council events, attend higher education events, deliver presentations, interview potential applicants and meet with local alumni.

Mexican community in London

The Institute for Mexicans Abroad has identified London as having the largest Mexican community in the UK, there are many Mexican-run organisations and clubs in the UK.

Exatec UK is an alumni organisation for alumni of the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education living in the UK.

Mexico Amigo is a group established by Mexicans in the UK that specialises in fund-raising events.

The Mexican Embassy in London is located at 16 St George Street, London W1S 1FD, in Mayfair.

Mexican students also have access to Latin American House which is a registered Charity aiming to provide space and support for Latin Americans, Portuguese and Spanish speakers.  Students can also visit Latin American London which provides information on events in London.

The British Mexican Society aims to foster and promote knowledge and appreciation of the rich cultural heritage of Mexico by offering a forum for anyone residing in the UK who is interested in Mexico and its traditions and to raise funds for charitable projects in Mexico.  This society also hosts a number of events in London which could be of interest to Mexican students living in the UK.

Carnaval del Pueblo has been held in London since 1999 and is the largest Latin American out-door festival in Europe, attracting people from diverse backgrounds in a day of Latin music, dance and fun.  The festival brings a Latin experience to London with a carnival procession, Latin American artists on 4 different areas and many other activities in Burgess Park.  
 
If you like Latin Cinema you can attend the Latin American Film Festival each November.
