Goldsmiths warmly welcomes students from Thailand. There are currently around 30 Thai students studying on Goldsmiths’ undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes.

What are they studying?

Students from Thailand are following a range of degree subjects at Goldsmiths including Art, Computing, Cultural Studies, Design and Media & Communications.

Students from Thailand are also eligible to join our study abroad programme - ‘Study in London’, which gives international students the opportunity to live, study and socialise with Goldsmiths’ undergraduate students for one or two terms, or the full academic year and transfer their credit back to their home university. You can also be admitted as a postgraduate student.


Programmes

Goldsmiths offers courses in a wide range of study areas, including art & design, anthropology, creative & cultural entrepreneurship, computing, cultural studies, education, English & linguistics, drama, history, media & communications, music, politics, psychology, sociology, social work and visual cultures.

Alumni

Our friendly Alumni office is regularly keeping in touch with Goldsmiths’ alumni with the latest news and organising exciting events in the UK and overseas. We have many successful alumni from Goldsmiths now working in Bangkok. One of our design graduates is now the Chair of Design and Planning programme at King Mongkut University of Technology, whilst a Media and Communications graduate is now a lecturer at Chulalongkorn University.

Institutional partners

Entry requirements

All applications are usually considered on individual merit and we accept a wide range of qualifications from all over the world. Please check the most common entry requirements for Thailand here.

Local representatives in Thailand

If you need a little extra help and advice, you can choose to visit an overseas representative appointed by Goldsmiths in your country.


Fees and Funding

Goldsmiths has a series of scholarships for international students applying for postgraduate and research programmes. Postgraduate students may also be eligible for the Alumni Discounts Scheme.

There are also several scholarship schemes available specifically for students in Thailand, including Chevening Scholarships and others. For further information, please see .

Visits to Thailand

The International Office team visit Thailand at least once a year to take part in the British Council events, attend higher education events, deliver presentations, interview potential applicants and meet with local alumni.

Thai community in London

London has a long-standing Thai community, with many organisations promoting Thai language, culture and lifestyle.  There are currently 35,000 Thai people living in the UK.

Samaggi Samagom, Thai Student Association in the UK, holds a very popular student games event every year.

Thai food is very popular in London and there are several very good Thai restaurants in London. You may find that it is also served in pubs. There is a Thai Buddhist temple in Wimbledon.

South East London 

Goldsmiths is located in New Cross, South East London, just 15 minutes to central London by train.  Vibrant, urban and with great transport connections to Central London, it's an ideal base for experiencing and enjoying the capital.

There are many Asian groceries and restaurants in Deptford Market just ten miuntes walk from the main campus buildings, including a Vietnamese restaurant Panda Panda which is very popular with all our students! Opposite the University there is a Thai restaurant where staff and students like to eat.
