Roaming Access

EndNote Web allows you to access your library from anywhere through "roaming" access.

Important Points about Roaming

You must register your account from a computer on campus before you can login with roaming access
You can roam for twelve months before you need to log in with an authenticated session
You will not see Web of Knowledge links and times cited counts when roaming nor be able to search Web of Knowledge databases through Online Search when roaming
You will not see OpenURL and Full Text links configured for your institution when roaming

EndNote Web is a web-based program which integrates:

Organising your references
Producing formatted bibliographies instantly and automatically
Searching online bibliographic databases.

Because it is web-based it is available from any computer connected to the internet. It is not optimised for the smaller screens on mobiles, but you should be able to access it, if you have no other way of doing so.

You don't have to pay for EndNote Web to use it off-campus. This is known as "Roaming Access".

Getting started with EndNote Web

You need to set up an EndNote Web account to hold your references from a computer on campus. Full details are available in the first few pages of this 13 page pdf guide: endnoteweb_intro_2_10.

Using EndNote Web with Microsoft Word: Cite While You Write™

To use EndNote Web with Word to produce formatted citations and bibliographies you will need to install a ‘plug-in’. Full instructions are on a separate page.

If you use a different word processor, you can still use it with EndNote Web, but in a slightly different way. Full instructions are on the EndNote Web Help site under Format Paper.
