IT Services Guide P4.1 Advice on Buying a Computer gives some general guidelines for individual staff and students about how to approach the issue of buying your own computer. In addition, the IT Services Help Desk staff are prepared, as far as time allows, to give further advice to individuals, though users should understand that this type of query cannot be given a high priority, so it is best to make an appointment in advance for a time when the Help Desk will not be busy.
Current editions of a number of consumer computer magazines are kept at the IT Services Help Desk, and back numbers are available in the Library, where they are shelved with other periodicals at the 005 classmark.
