Forgotten passwords

Please note

For security reasons, passwords will only be issued in person from the IT Services Help Desk on proof of identity. New passwords will not be given out over the phone or sent to an e-mail address.

It is essential that you memorise your password. If you forget it, you will need to apply for a new one and you will be unable to access any College computer facilities until it has been issued. In particular, students who have spent a significant time away from College, e.g. on a year abroad, are advised to ensure on their return that they can remember their password in advance of starting to use the computer facilities for coursework.

You can apply for a new password by completing an Application for a New Password (IT Services Guide A1.14) and submitting it to the IT Services Help Desk. The new password will normally be issued within 24 hours, but in busy periods and in vacations this cannot be guaranteed.
