Connecting Your Computer to the College Network

The College has facilities for users to connect their own computers to the College Network. There are two services:

eduroam
This provides for a wireless connection from many locations around the campus.

ResNet-Gold
This provides for a cabled connection to network sockets in three of the College’s halls of residence.

Both services provide access to:

• Your College email account
• Your filespace on the College network
• The College Web site and the rest of the Internet

Please note that these services are only accessible with computers that meet certain technical requirements, including a recent Windows or Macintosh operating system and up-to-date anti-virus software.

All use of our Network is governed by College Regulations.

Users register for and connect to this service at their own risk. IT Services accept no responsibility for damage to operating systems or other files on users’ own computer equipment arising from registration for or use of this service.

The wireless networking facility does not offer secure data transfer. If you use it to conduct financial or confidential transactions, you do so entirely at your own risk. A commercial web site you are connecting to may provide a secure connection from your browser, but it is your responsibility to ensure this is the case.
