Finding books
Use the Library catalogue to locate books, reserve and renew items on the catalogue.
Browse the 2nd floor shelves. Art books are shelved from 700 on the 2nd floor of the Library. Contemporary artists at 709.2, recent exhibition catalogues at 709.051 and biennale catalogues at Q 707.4.
Oversize books have Q on the spine label. Find them on the Oversize shelves next to the windows.
The Reference section on the 2nd floor includes dictionaries of art terms at 703 and resources for professional development in the arts.

Using art magazines and web resources for research
These provide valuable current information on artists and contemporary art practice debates. New issues can be found on the 2nd floor in the Art Journals Reading Room. Back issues are also available. Please check the library catalogue for details or ask at the enquiry desk.
E-Journals and databases
Please search the library catalogue if you have a particular journal in mind. For general subject searches try using electronic databases which help you search for articles in journals and magazines. You can use them to find references and get the full text of articles online. For off campus access you will need your IT username and password. - Art Full Text and Art Retrospective - includes full text of many art magazines. Select Art Full Text from the homepage to search, or use INFO to get a list of journal names to browse.
- Art Bibliographies Modern (ABM) - searches magazines, as well as essays and exhibition catalogues.
- Proquest - archives of national newspapers, including exhibition reviews from 1994- present.
- Oxford Art Online - includes Grove Art Online and Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms
