Reference access for visitors
The College Library is available for reference to individuals who need to consult books and periodicals available here that cannot easily be seen elsewhere. Before visiting the library, readers are advised to check the catalogue to verify that the materials they wish to consult are available.
Library visitors may be admitted to the Rutherford Building between the following hours:

Visitors who need to consult specific items not available elsewhere may apply for a reference ticket. This can be extended if necessary.
Applications for day or long-term reference tickets should be made in person at the library reception desk. When applying for a visiting reference ticket you must provide the library with proof of your address (for example a recent utility bill, driving licence, or a letter of introduction from your current educational establishment or employer). Visitors may enquire at the reception desk or via e-mail (library@gold.ac.uk) for further information.
Current staff and students of institutions with which we have reciprocal agreements (schools and institutes of the University of London and the University of Greenwich) must show a current identity card from the home institution. This cannot be a library-only card. Holders of current Sconul Access scheme cards must also show current identification from their home institution.
Reference cards will not give you access to computer facilities or the internet (apart from the library catalogue).
Self-service photocopying facilities are available, subject to the provision of copyright legislation, to external readers. Blank copycards, costing £1.00, may be purchased from the library issue desk and copying value put on them at coin operated revaluator machines in the library. You will need to bring change for this.
Audio-visual resources access
Holders of current Sconul Access scheme cards, students and staff from other University of London Colleges and the University of Greenwich, have reference use of DVDs, videos, cassettes and sound recordings in the Library.
There is no access to the slide collection.
