The Screen School
An initiative within the Department of Media and Communications, Goldsmiths
Background
The Screen School, inaugurated in November 2003, is part of a growing interest in film within the Department of Media and Communications and across the College. We aim to bring together theory and practice with industry, and to converge different disciplinary approaches. The Screen School has developed from the MA programmes based in screen media, from both the practice and theory sides of the Department. These include:
- Digital Media
- Feature Film
- Filmmaking
- Screen Documentary
- Screen and Film Studies
- Image & Communication
- Screen Documentary
- Scriptwriting
- Television Journalism
The Screen School provides a nexus for various perspectives and interests including: theorising film culture and policy; aesthetics; world cinema; practices of film production and scriptwriting; and new technologies and screen cultures.
