Media Services

Media Services is composed of two units within the IT Services department. 

The Media Equipment Centre and in the Richard Hoggart Building, Room 181, is responsible for the video and data presentation equipment installed in College central Teaching Rooms, holds a loan collection of portable AV equipment and gives advice on how to use this equipment.

The Digital Media Suite on the ground floor of the Rutherford Building provides facilities (and assistance if required) with many media copying tasks (e.g. from DVD to DVD, from Mini-DV to DVD, from VHS to DVD, etc.) and has twelve Apple Macintosh digital video editing suites utilising Final Cut Pro. Two acoustic booths are also available in the suite for audio and post-production testing of video projects. Occasional training sessions are also held on the use of high-end video recording equipment such as HD video cameras.

In addition to these two units, Media Services also has responsibility for video-conferencing (VC) facilities in the Prokofiev Room and in the New Academic Building Main Lecture Theatre.
