Patricia Alessandrini is a composer and sound artist creating multimedia and interactive work which actively engages with the concert music repertoire, and notions of representation, interpretation, perception and memory, often in the context of social and political issues. These works are often theatrical and collaborative, involving elements such as live electronics, resonating and animated objects, physical computing, and interactive video in staged or installation situations.
She was previously an instructor of alto perfezionamento of Computer-Assisted Composition at the Scuola superiore of the Accademia Musicale Pescarese and a Lecturer in Composition with Technology at Bangor University.

As in other examples of Shen Yi Elsie’s work, this video engages with themes of work and alienation under hypercapitalism.

In Sahin’s words, ‘this is a personal response to the ‘headscarf debate’ in Turkey, which tries to imagine a possibility that doesn’t yet exist: a situation in which women can decide for ourselves.’
Adagio sans quatuor, sound installation featuring instruments and objects which ‘play themselves’ through electronic excitation and the use of physical modelling; the sound produced by the objects is altered by their own movements; in collaboration with Paul Stapleton, who designed two of the instruments, 2010 (more info here).
