London is in many ways the musical capital of the world, and offers unrivalled opportunities for those wishing to study music here.

At Goldsmiths we are only a few minutes away from some of the most iconic performance spaces in the city, such as the Royal Festival Hall, the Barbican, the Roundhouse and Ronnie Scott’s. In addition to having two opera houses, five symphony orchestras and numerous West End musicals, the capital also hosts the biggest names in rock, pop, jazz and world music, at venues such as Wembley Arena, the O2, Hammersmith Apollo and Brixton Academy. To get a sense of the enormous diversity of London’s music scene, at Time Out London, your online guide to what's on in London.

Students will particularly enjoy the range of internationally renowned performers with whom they can study. Recent visitors to the Department include Joan Rodgers, Derek Han, Sofia Gubaidulina, Boris Berman, Hamish Milne, Vladimir Tarnopolski, Levon Chilingirian, Shlomo Mintz, Matthew Herbert, Soweto Kinch, Carrie & David Grant, Abram Wilson and Steve White.
