NX Records pop-up shop celebrates best of local talent

After a tough decade of free-falling music sales and high street giants shutting up shop, the vinyl revival is gaining pace and more musicians are putting their work on record. Turn back the clock – with sounds of the future - this month at NX Records’ latest pop up shop at 310 New Cross Road.

Through vinyl, CDs, rare books and magazines, cassette tapes, and bring-your-own-bottle live gigs, NX Records will present the best electronically-minded labels, including Hyperdub, Planet Mu, raster-noton, Slowfoot and Accidental, as well as a plethora of other genres such as indie giants Bella Union from 9-31 October.

The shop will also stock releases from local independent artists and Goldsmiths students and alumni.

Launched in 2013, NX Records is a collaboration between Goldsmiths’ Department of Music and Matthew Herbert’s Accidental Records. Based in New Cross, south east London, the independent label offers a platform for Goldsmiths BMus in Popular Music students and other local talent.
