Top marks for international outlook in Times Higher Education rankings

Goldsmiths, University of London’s reputation as an international research-led institution has seen it placed in the top third of the world’s best universities, according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2016-2017.

The university was ranked in the 301-350 bracket out of nearly a thousand institutions surveyed for the annual report (around 5% of the world’s total).

At number 38 in the country, Goldsmiths is in the top third of UK universities.

Goldsmiths scored highly for its ‘international outlook’, appearing in the global top 20%. The category covers an institution’s percentage of international staff and students, and international co-authorship on academic research papers.

The university’s score for ‘citation impact’ was also well above the global average.

Earlier this month, Goldsmiths was also named one of the world’s ‘top 60 most international universities’ by the QS World University Rankings.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings, founded in 2004, provides the definitive list of the world's best universities, evaluated across teaching, research, international outlook, reputation and more.

Data collected by the THE is trusted by governments and universities and provides a vital resource for students when they are choosing where to study. This year's league table is the first and only international university rankings so far to be submitted to PwC for audit.
