Main details

Year graduated 2015
Occupation MA Arts Administration and Cultural Policy. Transatlantic Arts Manager and Consultant.
Country United States

I came into the Arts Admin MA with a lot of experience, but a need for certain expertise and understanding of the UK sector. During my time at Goldsmiths, I did a work placement with The Audience Agency after CEO Anne Torreggiani came to give a lecture on audience development and segmentation. My work placement led directly to an events position within The Audience Agency, where I was able to get a great overview of the cultural landscape in the UK. This experience really illuminated the things we were learning and researching in class.

I am currently working for United Agents, a talent agency based in Soho, where I programme a jazz and cabaret venue in Piccadilly Circus. The practicality of our MA, and all the connections I was able to make during the course really helped ground my previous experience with a deep knowledge of the UK arts scene. As an American, this proved really helpful. It was also a personal joy to put the "pause button" on working life for a year in order to delve deeply into the issues that I wanted to explore, but didn't have time to in my day to day work life.
