"The people I met and relationships I created during my years here led me to further professional journeys which I feel passionate, excited and proud about."

Country Lithuania

I currently work for a number of projects including Richard House Children’s Hospice, Icandance and Solace Women’s Aid. Through these charities I help to provide dance and performance opportunities for children and young people and female survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence and abuse. Each of them has been a heart-warming journey full of positive emotions and experiences.

Moving to the UK was not an easy decision to make and the process of leaving behind all of my family and friends was hard. Coming from Lithuania which is a very conservative and small country, I was not even sure if my MA in Dance Movement Psychotherapy would be recognised if I came back home. However, my gut feeling took over as soon as I landed to UK and I realised I had to pursue my dream of becoming a Dance Movement Psychotherapist.

Studying at Goldsmiths was an invaluable experience: I met so many diverse, intelligent, creative students and colleagues and professional and experienced tutors who I thank for inspiring me to learn for life. I gained rich professional experiences during my clinical placements in different organisations across London. Studying in Goldsmiths I consolidated my academic background and clinical skills within my professional field as well as personal growth. The people I met and relationships I created during my years here led me to further professional journeys which I feel passionate, excited and proud about.

Summing everything up, coming to UK, studying Dance Movement Psychotherapy at Goldsmiths was one of the best decisions I had ever made. It’s been a life-changing journey and I am incredibly grateful for my family and beloved ones for supporting me.
