This two-year part-time programme is for anyone who wants to study Theatre Arts in order to progress to a full-time university drama programme or training at theatre school. There are no formal entrance requirements, but we prefer you to have some previous practical experience of theatre. You should be able to demonstrate the creative aptitude and commitment necessary to complete the programme.

The Certificate is equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree. The programme is made up of four modules: Performance Skills I, Performance Skills II, Theatre Studies and either Technical Course or Writing for Performance. To gain the Certificate, you need to complete all four over a two-year period. If you want to go on to Higher Education elsewhere, you will be given a transcript and a credit record. Past students have followed careers in the theatre, television and film.

Please note: if you don’t want to study for the Certificate, you can take one or more individual modules for credit. You can only join the entire Certificate in October.
