Our standard entrance requirements are:
Postgraduate Diplomas and Certificates, Master’s degrees: You should normally have (or expect to be awarded) an undergraduate degree of at least second class standard in a relevant subject.
MRes, MPhil and PhD: You should normally have (or expect to be awarded) an undergraduate degree of at least upper second class standard or a Master’s degree in a relevant subject.
Some of our programmes have additional entrance requirements; please check the individual programme entries for details.
If your degree is in an unrelated field, you may also be considered, subject to a qualifying examination; we may ask any applicant to take this examination. You might also be considered for some programmes if you aren’t a graduate, but have relevant experience and can show that you have the ability to work at postgraduate level. We welcome applications from EU students (full-time or part-time) and international students (full-time only). See How to Apply for details of our application process.
Goldsmiths’ interdisciplinary approach is epitomised in the Contemporary Cultural Processes Scheme, which is made up of a number of Master’s degrees that analyse modern societies and their cultures through different perspectives – from Anthropology, English, Media and Communications, and Sociology. The Scheme is made up of the MAs in Anthropology and Cultural Politics; Critical and Creative Analysis; Media and Communications; and Transnational Communications and Global Media.
For some programmes, you may have to submit work as part of your application. If you'd like us to return your work, please enclose a suitable self-addressed return envelope, together with the appropriate replypaid coupon or postage stamps.
We cannot return your work if you do not do so; in such cases, you must arrange collection of your work no later than the end of the first week of October 2008 - the College will arrange automatic disposal after this date. Goldsmiths accepts no responsibility for loss of or damage to any item (artwork, transparencies, audio or videocassettes, CD-ROMs, or written work, for example) submitted in support of an application: please do not send originals or items of any monetary value.
Please note: 'subject to validation' means that we will be offering this degree providing it is approved by the College's Academic Board.
