This is an innovative programme for practising artists, arts graduates and workshop leaders who recognise the field of arts in other sectors as a valid and practical way of developing creative and socially engaged career paths.

The programme combines a balance between the development of practical skills with self-reflection and theoretical study aimed at deepening your understanding of the context of arts practice in sectors such as:

  • education
  • health
  • prison
  • youth work
  • business
  • community work

It also gives you a thorough grounding in the practical, theoretical and management skills necessary to develop your career.

Originally developed in partnership with National Theatre Education, the programme is delivered by a team of creative practitioners working across arts disciplines and offers pathways for both visual and performing artists of all kinds. The MA builds on and draws on Goldsmiths' excellent relationships with leading arts, community and cultural organisations across London.
