The MRes in Art Psychotherapy allows qualified and experienced art therapists to explore clinical practice through critical examination of theory, to gain a wide knowledge of research methods and evidence-based practice, and to develop research skills. It has been designed to equip you to undertake research and to contribute to the evidence base and the discipline and its practices. Successful completion of the programme enables you to undertake research in art psychotherapy and/or to proceed to a higher degree. It has been structured to meet the needs of working professionals, with flexibility and independent study built in to the programme.

The taught courses address the qualitative and quantitative research methodologies in the context of evidence-based practice and as a means through which the clinical, contextual and visual considerations within art psychotherapy can be investigated.
