The Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services & Skills (Ofsted) is required to inspect the provision of Primary and Secondary Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programmes. Ofsted inspections have found all aspects of the PGCE programmes at Goldsmiths to meet the standards required by the Government, with the vast majority rated as ‘very good’ or ‘good’.
Our most recent Ofsted report said our key strengths included: ‘the effectiveness of the training in meeting trainees’ individual needs’; ‘the highly collaborative partnership that ensures high quality training in both schools and the university’; and ‘the commitment to equality of opportunity for all trainees and the promotion of good race relations’.
