First year student Melina Mandelbaum wins Oxford University Press Baylis & Smith Prize
The prize, worth £100 of OUP books, is given annually for the best first year essay on international relations in each participating department. This year the Politics department has awarded the prize to Melina Mandelbaum, who wrote an outstanding essay on why none of the main approaches to World Politics were able to predict the end of the Cold War.
