Two
doctoral studentships funded by the European Research Council (ERC) are available
from September 2010 in the Department of Psychology, Goldsmiths, University
of London. Applicants are welcome to apply for either a 1+3 year (Masters & PhD),
or a 3 year doctoral programme. The successful student will work as part
of a research team funded by a 5 year ERC grant, "HEMSDEV: An investigation
of the construction of human embodied multisensory experience in
infancy and early childhood", under the supervision of Dr. Andy Bremner, and will have access to and training in both

A stipend of £19250 per annum will be provided. Students will be expected to pay their own university fees (£3500 pa).
Applicants for a 1+3 studentship should have a good first degree (1st class, high 2:1, or equivalent) in psychology or a closely allied discipline. Applicants for a 3 year doctorate will normally be expected to hold a Masters degree in an area related to Psychology. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong aptitude and motivation to work in a research team undertaking both collaborative and individual research projects in a scientifically rigorous way. We are also looking for a candidate who will be able to: work with infants, children and parents, present research at national and international scientific meetings, and submit research manuscripts for publication on a regular basis.
