Work Psychology

The Goldsmiths work psychology cluster conducts research on issues in occupational health psychology, individual differences in the workplace (e.g. intelligence, personality, psychological flexibility, creativity), leadership, and workplace relationships. We emphasize the application of modern statistical methods to rigorously answer questions of relevance to employees and the organisations in which they work.

Prof. Frank Bond: Occupational health psychology: evaluating process and outcome in stress management and work reorganisation interventions; identifying organisational and psychological factors that predict health and work effectiveness; cognitive-behaviour therapies at work.

Dr.Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic: Personality, intelligence, creativity, psychometric testing, consumer behaviour, psychology of art and music, human performance, learning and individual differences.

Dr. Jonathan Freeman: Psychological evaluation of digital media experience, including: user centred research to inform digital media product design, development and exploitation. Human factors, usability and accessibility of digital media (digital TV, radio, internet, mobile, social networking tools, computer games). User experience of presence in virtual and augmented reality applications.

Dr. Nigel Guenole: Leadership, organizational justice, personality, work attitudes, the application of modern statistical methods such as structural equation modeling to problems in these areas.

Dr. Madoka Kumashiro: Role of interdependent relationships (e.g. supervisors, friends, romantic partners) on motivation; work-life balance; well-being; influence of personality on these processes.
