I am studying some psychological aspects of sleep paralysis; a sleep disorder that can occur in an isolated form or as a symptom of narcolepsy. Visual and/or auditory hallucinations can be a part of the sleep paralysis experience and I am investigating this in terms of reality monitoring performance and reality testing performance. I am also investigating the relationship between sleep paralysis and schizotypy. Furthermore I am studying the effect of antidepressant medication on the incidence of sleep paralysis among people who do not have narcolepsy.
