9.1 Students shall attend on all days prescribed for their programme unless the College is officially closed.
9.2 Except in the case of illness students shall obtain permission from the Programme Tutor concerned before absenting themselves from any seminar, tutorial or practical class, or from any field excursion or special visit.
9.3 Attendance at school practice, school visits and all forms of work with children command obligatory attendance for students on programmes leading to an initial teaching qualification.
9.4 A student who is absent from the College because of illness or other unavoidable cause shall inform his or her department(s) on the first day of absence and immediately upon return.
9.5 A student must supply a medical certificate showing the cause of absence if this has lasted for one week or more.
9.6 A student who is absent from school based work must also immediately inform the Head of the school concerned and the Supervisor.
9.7 Students who absent themselves totally for more than two weeks from their programme and have not supplied a medical certificate or other evidence acceptable to the College to cover such an absence shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the College.
9.8 Departments shall maintain attendance records of all students and shall notify the Registry of the last date of attendance of any student who has been absent from the programme for more than two weeks and has not supplied a medical certificate or other acceptable evidence to cover such an absence.
