Regulation 17: Computer Misuse
17.1 Definitions
17.1.1 For the purpose of this Regulation all terms shall be interpreted according to the definitions used in the Computer Misuse Act 1990.
17.1.2 Any query regarding the interpretation of this or other Regulations relating to the Computer Misuse Act 1990 shall be referred to the Director of Information Technology, and also to the Data Protection Officer if it is known or suspected that processing of personal data is involved.
17.2 Unauthorised access
A student or a member of staff must not without authorisation cause a computer to perform any function with intent to secure access to any program or data held in any computer.
17.3 Unauthorised modification
A student or a member of staff must not do any act which causes an unauthorised modification of the contents of any computer.
