28.1 Departments shall ensure that requests for references on behalf of students can be handled by them at all times of the year.
28.2 Central and any departmental student records shall be made available only to appropriate members of the academic staff and to authorised administrative staff.
28.3 Special Regulations may apply to teaching practice reports.
28.4 Students wishing to discuss the contents of a report shall be encouraged to do so with their Tutor.
28.5 Reports shall be available only to the student about whom the report has been written, appropriate members of the academic staff and authorised administrative staff.
28.6 References shall be written by the person or persons who have the best and most appropriate knowledge of the student and not by the Registry.
28.7 Requests for transcripts from students or former students must be passed to the Registry. A charge will normally be levied for each official transcript issued.
