Two Leverhulme Trust Visiting Fellowships for Goldsmiths

Goldsmiths is delighted to have been selected to receive funding to cover the costs of two Leverhulme Trust Visiting Fellowships. The Fellowships, each lasting nine or ten months, are intended to support younger, less experienced researchers, who have not yet spent an extended period in the UK, to enable them to develop skills and experience. There is no age limit; however, the academic would ideally need to be an Early Career Researcher with less than eight years postdoctoral experience. They must be citizens of and permanently resident in any country other than the UK, and intend to return to that country at the end of their Fellowship.

All kinds of research, including practice-based, will be considered and the Fellows will be encouraged not only to conduct research but also to give lectures and seminars and to participate in the intellectual life of the institution. The intention is to stimulate research activities and intellectual links between the visitor and Goldsmiths.

All Fellowships must be started by February 2008.

Members of academic staff who wish to propose a Fellow should in the first instance discuss the application with their Head of Department and if it is agreed that the Fellow would be a suitable applicant they should arrange completion of the . See also [ PDF ].

Each Department is eligible to nominate one Visiting Fellow, and the nomination form must be sent by the Head of Department to Justin Davin-Smith in the Research Office. The closing date for nominations is 5pm 16 February, 2007 and the successful applicants will be notified and nominated to the Leverhulme Trust shortly after this date.
