Student Record System (SRS)
Overview
Implementing the Student Record System (SRS) is Goldsmiths’ largest internally-managed project. The project will see a system called ‘Banner’ replace the current UNIT-e system. When fully implemented, it will mean students are able to apply, enrol, pay fees, and have access to information online. For staff, it means we will have online access to student information, a single place to hold student data, and improved statistical reporting.

Benefits of Banner:
The new system will be utilised for the 2011/12 student cohort. This means ‘go live’ for admissions and enquires from autumn 2010, for enrolments in autumn 2011, and for later stages of the student life cycle throughout the 2011/12 year. See the diagram here for information about the planned roll out of the system.
- A more joined-up experience for students
- A more accessible single database which will ensure the most up-to-date information is held in one place and remove the need for duplicate systems
- Increased efficiency for staff through the ‘Business Document Management Suite’ and ‘Workflow’ features, which will automate processes and communications
- A seamless interface to other centrally provided systems, such as Agresso, Pyramid and timetabling
