UNIT-e Modules

This SRS Project will implement additional modules for UNIT-e, to provide additional functionality and improve the experience for both staff and students:

Online Services (Package)

The UNIT-e Online Services module is a suite of applications that will enable prospective students to search for courses, make enquiries, submit applications and enrol online.

Columbus

The UNIT-e Columbus module is a management information intranet, providing a web-based reporting facility that supplies staff and managers with the information they need, when they need it.  Columbus offers the ability to extract data from and write back to UNIT-e and with some development would be an effective tool to provide departmental access to the system and replace some of the shadow systems that have been developed.

Student Loans Company

The UNIT-e Student Loans Company module will enable communication between the College and the Student Loans Company to be administered electronically.

Student Funds

The UNIT-e Student Funds module will enable the administration of financial awards to be streamlined and provide the facility for budgets to be created and applied to various awards.  It will place all student funding data in a secure, centralised source, fully integrated within UNIT-e.

Dictionary Importer

UNIT-e Dictionary Importer complements the existing UNIT-e Report Generator.  It will enable the import of database tables supplied by third party systems (e.g. Agresso and Scientia) to create a portal where students can access all their information from one place.

Information Interface (Advanced)

The UNIT-e Information Interface application will enable us to design data entry forms tailored specifically to match the business processes of the organisation, to improve the speed of back office administrative processing.

We currently make no use of the existing Marketing Manager and Placements functionality of the UNIT-e system.  The project proposes the implementation of this and other functionality not presently used, in order to exploit the system to its full potential.
