The LeAP workshops

Workshops can be attended by staff wishing to catch up on workshops they have previously missed on our programme as well as staff applying to undertake the full LeAP course.

What is LeAP?

A programme of workshops for staff who line manage or supervise others, or who have the recognised potential for doing so. The programme is designed to cater for those who have had little formal leadership and management development or would like to refresh their skills and knowledge in a supportive setting. The workshops can be attended as one offs or along with assignments, can lead via various routes towards an Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 3 Qualification.

What's involved?

The programme is designed to be flexible for busy people and has various options of attendance:

  • attend any workshop on the open programme, you won't receive a qualification but you will benefit from engaging with peers and colleagues in sharing experience and developing skills (you may still be able to sign up for the Unit Certificate during a short period after attendance, see below)

  • attend one or more individual workshops, complete an assignment and further study with the support of a Programme Tutor and gain an ILM L3 Unit Certificate for each workshop subject

  • sign up for the ILM L3 Award in First Line Management, attend the relevant workshops and compete the assignments (appx. 6 months)

  • sign up for the ILM L3 Certificate in First Line Management. Anything you have already completed on the programme will count towards this (appx. 18 months)

Which route is the right one for you?
