Human Power Stations

This project aims at quantifying energy in order to create a better understanding of appliances’ consumption as well as that of our bodies’. It promotes the use of our everyday physical activity to transfer our bodies’ energy into that needed to power our appliances. By identifying food as an energy source it explains how an apple contains the same amount of energy as a light bulb would use in an hour; this is also the same amount of energy a human is recommended to consume in an hour. The promotion of us as human power stations tackles various issues, like that of the impending energy crisis, as well as that of health and obesity.
