Processed: An Introduction (2/2)
Thirdly, it is our interdisciplinarity. Our graduates work in-between and through different mediums to create work that challenge design norms. It is with this, that processed was conceived.
This year's graduates wanted to challenge the convention of degree shows – they wanted to highlight the means and not the ends, they wanted to show their thinking, making, drawing and research processes, they wanted to emphasize that design
education is more than the end point, a shiny, highly polished thing on a plinth, but it is the journey traveled, the ideas lost and most importantly the mistakes along the way.
The work shown in Processed is diverse in application and deep in meaning, the designers that are represented and processed through the Goldsmiths machine are individual, creative and talented. I, for one, am excited to see the great things that they will go on to achieve.
