I heart you

The love heart symbol is extensively utilized in jewellery design. It is associated with romance and femininity, contrasted to the human heart, which is more commonly perceived as macabre or medical.
Synonymous with life, the heart beats to remind us we are alive; we do not need to simplify its function.

In questioning why we tend not to envisage the anatomical structure, I have altered the romanticised approach creating a more realistic status.

Through casting real hearts to replace the traditional and common aspects of the love heart, these “real heart” alternatives have more symbolic potency, as they’re formed inside real hearts.
