My project focuses on creating small celebrations from mundane and repetitive situations, such as waking up or commuting to work, using a collection of bright and vibrant African fabrics.

Repetitive activities are usually disliked because of how they make the person feel. The celebratory objects with the print or colour from the African fabric are there to bring joy to the situation.

My fabric defines my culture, yet in today’s society cultures find it difficult to express what they are truly about. Using the fabric in my designs is a way for me to let people know who I am.
