Health and Safety Policy
The Student Services Department follows the College Health and Safety policy, broadly:
It is the College's duty, and therefore that of the Student Services Department, to ensure so far as reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of all who are affected by the way its undertaking is conducted. This refers to members and staff of the College, its students, contractors, and anyone else who comes into contact with the College and its activities.
The Student Services Department has a Health and Safety Officer: Yetty Efunnuga.
Through the Director of Student Services the department will, as far as reasonably practicable:
- Provide and maintain healthy working conditions and systems of work
- Provide and maintain safe plant and machinery
- Provide information, instruction, training and supervision to enable service providers and service users to perform their work and access services safely
- Provide suitable and appropriate protective equipment and supervise its use
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and welfare in all College activities
In return the Student Services Department requires service providers and service users to take reasonable care of themselves and other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions whilst at work or using a service, and to abide by College Regulations.
