Examination registration for the award of MPhil or PhD
Registering for your Examination
Research students who are getting ready to submit their thesis will need to register to be examined. Registration is done by completing a set of examination entry forms which have to be sent in at least 2 months before the submission of thesis. The forms are then valid for 18 months.

Appointment of Examiners
Supervisors must submit the 'Appointment of Examiners forms' for the approval of the Graduate School atleast 2 months before any provisional date for the viva is set. Viva dates should not be finalised until the approval and formal acceptance of the examiners has taken place.

Submission of Thesis
The thesis must be submitted to the Student Centre, Room 117 RHB. The office opening hours are 10am to 4pm. A set of submission forms will need to be completed and submitted with the thesis at least one month before the date of a viva.

If a candidate is recommended to represent their thesis in 12 or 18 months they will be required to pay an examination fee. At least one month before the resubmission of the thesis the candidate will complete and return the re-entry form to the Enrolment and Records Office.
The revised thesis has to be submitted to the Student Centre, Room 117 RHB. Opening hours are 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
