The Money Doctors Scheme
The Money Doctors scheme is part of a national project run at numerous institutions in association with the Consumer Financial Education Body (CFEB)aiming to improve students’ financial capability. The CFEB have identified younger adults as having a significantly lower level of financial capability than older adults. Higher Education is a sector which relies on young adults to be financially aware and able to fund their learning activity; and there is a direct link between low financial knowledge and poor student outcomes.
The scheme is working to raise the profile of Money Doctors nationally and the project’s type of financial capability work is something that both students and parents are increasingly looking for when selecting HEI’s.
The Money Doctors initiative was adopted by Goldsmiths in 2008 when the agreement between the College and the CFEB was signed by the Pro-Warden, Students.
