Student tuition fees
Student Finance Changes from 2012
Changes to UK/EU Student Finance from 2012
Changes to UK/EU student finance means that a new fees regime is in place from 2012 entry. Details of Goldsmiths' fees for 2012 entry can be found here. Please note this only affects students starting undergraduate and Initial Teacher Training programmes (PGCE) in or after September 2012.
If you wish to pay your tuition fees we recommend you pay online.
Please note that tuition fees are quoted for the current Academic Year only. Fees are subject to annual review and are likely to increase by 3% to 5%.
For Home/EU students the fees for programmes which are offered part time are typically half the full time fee unless otherwise stated.

Payments
Payment is due in full at enrolment unless you are paying by direct debit or wish to claim the Early Payment Discount.
Please note that your library and computer access will be restricted on 1 November if by that date you have not paid your tuition fee in full, or completed a direct debit mandate, or provided evidence that a sponsor or the Student Loans Company are paying your tuition fee. If you are waiting for confirmation of sponsorship, or student loan company assessment/tuition fee loan, then please contact the fees office to discuss possible extensions to your access to college facilities. Continued failure to pay or provide evidence of sponsorship/loans will result in your registration as a student of Goldsmiths being withdrawn. You will not be considered for re-registration until all monies owed to the college have been paid in full.
Paying by direct debit
If you are on an award-bearing programme of at least one years duration and your tuition fee is over £150 you can pay in 5 consecutive, monthly instalments by direct debit. Direct debit payments can only be made from a bank account with a UK sort code. Some building society accounts may not accept direct debits. If in doubt please contact your bank or building society before completing the mandate. For your enrolment to be validated you must return a completed direct debit mandate by end of September, your first payment will be debited in October.
Once completed, please return the direct debit mandate, ensuring that you have entered the student reference number. If the account holder is not the student, please complete the form attached to the mandate. Please note that any default in payment will result in immediate liability for payment of outstanding fees in full. Instalments are only available by Direct Debit, no other instalment facilities are available to you.
You will receive notification of the payment plan at least 10 days before payment is taken. However, it is your responsibility to check the first payment is paid.
If you have any queries about direct debit payments, please telephone 020 7078 5311 or e-mail fees (@gold.ac.uk).
Please note a new mandate must be completed each year.
Paying by credit card or debit card
Payment by credit or debit card is accepted. Payment must be made in full at the time of enrolment. For more information telephone the Fees Office 020 7078 5311.
Overseas students who want to pay by credit card should make arrangements with their card company in advance. This should reduce the time taken to pay when you enrol.
If your card is not issued in the UK, the transaction will be in your owncurrency and will be based on Reuters Wholesales Interbank exchange rate plus 3% international conversion margin to replace the charge from your card company. If your card is not issued in the UK and you choose to pay in GBP you will be subject to a conversion fee or charge by your card company related to the value of the transaction.
We ONLY accept Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard or Maestro cards.
Please note that we DO NOT accept AMERICAN EXPRESS, JCB or DINERS CLUB

Early Payment Discount Scheme
If the tuition fee for your programme this session is £5810 or more and you pay your fee in full by the last Friday in the August before enrolment, you are entitled to a discount of 2.5% on the fee due. Please note that in order to be eligible for the discount payment needs to be received by Goldsmiths before the deadline. If you are paying by direct transfer to Goldsmith’s bank you should be aware that transfer of funds can take up to four weeks. You should therefore ensure that you allow sufficient time for the transfer. You must also provide proof of payment to the Finance Office. You should add sufficient money to cover bank charges and ensure your name is clearly stated on the payment instruction. The discount is only available to self-financing students. Student Loans for Home/EU Students
Student Finance Maintenance Loans and Grants are not released by the SLC until a student has enrolled and provided a Student Loan Assessment Notification to the Fees Office in the Student Centre. Once the Fees Office has confirmed attendance the SLC should release payment directly to your bank account in 3-5 days.
If a week after you have enrolled and sent the required paperwork to the Student Centre you have not received your maintenance this could be due to Student Finance not receiving your bank details or National Insurance number. You should contact them directly on 0845 300 5090 or minicom 0800 0853950. Please note payment cannot be released before the first day of term.
A new application needs to be made each academic year and students are advised to apply to Student Finance as early as possible. In order to increase the chances of your award being processed before the start of term Student Finance advise continuing students return their application by 29th June 2012 and new students by 31st May 2012.
