Imaging the Archive

‘Imaging the Archive’ was our Festive Season exhibition running from 8 December 2008 to 29 January 2009. Building the database of the Material Collection has produced some remarkable images by the Textile Collection’s photographer David Ramkalawon. The fourteen images below represent only a small fraction of the stunningly rich range of many thousands that David has taken to date. A limited edition of five archival quality signed prints were made from each image, which have been presented as an exhibition in the Constance Howard Gallery. The exhibition proved to be very successful, indeed a sell-out with many departments making their purchases for office display.
