Development and Marketing Coordinator, LIFT, MA

” I came to the Goldsmiths MA in Performance Making after studying Drama and Photography in Liverpool, where I went on to co-found TV Baby theater company.  After three years of theatre making I chose to join this MA with the intention of refining my performance practice and exploring my interest in academic theory.  The programme  provided the correct mix of structure and freedom to balance these intentions; rigorously developing my ability to create performance work whilst providing avenues for me to pursue the theoretical enquiry which drove me. It has been crucial in allowing me to orientate myself within the performance scene in London.  It has provided me with the space to challenge and develop my practice, the confidence to pursue further academic study, and an understanding of the sector with which to build a career in the performing arts.

Since graduating I have undertaken an internship with the Live Art Development Agency whilst continuing to collaborate with friends and colleagues from the MA; I have also begun working on the foundations of what will become my PhD thesis.  In April 2011 I joined the London International Festival of Theatre (LIFT) as Development and Marketing Coordinator.”
