Travel & Study Abroad Awards

There are a number of funding opportunities for currently enrolled students who'd like to undertake projects, travel or study abroad. These include:

George Thomas Blunden Award

One award of approximately £500 is available to any full-time student who is not in their final year to help towards the cost of a summer vacation 2012 project. The project should be of cultural and intellectual value, and should be undertaken during the summer vacation 2012.

Awards will not be made for any work, project, dissertation, theses or any other formal element of a student's course.

To apply, please complete a Blunden Application Form 2012 [MS word], and send it to your personal tutor for a supporting statement. Your tutor should then send it directly to us, following the instructions on the application form.

The deadline to apply is 1 March 2012, and decisions will be conveyed to applicants by email around 8 weeks later.


Kennedy Scholarships

There a number of scholarships available to UK residents who'd like to undertake postgraduate study in the USA – specifically, at Harvard University or Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The awards offer full tuition fees, a maintenance allowance of $23,500, health insurance, return airfare and an additional travel grant of $2,500. Find out more at www.kennedytrust.org.uk.


Frank Knox Fellowships

There are five awards available to British citizens who wish to undertake postgraduate study at Harvard University. The awards offer full tuition fees, a maintenance allowance of $24,000 and health service fees. Find out more at www.kennedytrust.org.uk/frankknox.


British Council Scholarships for Excellence

Up to ten scholarships funded by the Department of Innovation, Universities and Skills are available for study in any of Hong Kong's tertiary institutions, and an additional two for study at Chinese University of Hong Kong's Faculty of Business and Administration, the latter funded by A Better Tomorrow (Hong Kong) Limited.
