Research funding
We are currently funded by the Nuffield Foundation to profile the social, emotional, behavioural and neuropsychological abilities of students attending secondary Pupil Referral Units (headed by Dr Alice Jones; 2011-12).
The Unit is also currently co-ordinating a COST Action, IS0801, on ‘Cyberbullying: coping with negative and enhancing positive uses of new technologies, in relationships in educational settings’ (headed by Prof Peter Smith; Oct 2008-12. c.400,000 euros).
Previous Funding:
- DAPHNE project on ‘An investigation into forms of peer-peer bullying at school’ together with four other teams (headed by Prof Peter Smith; April 2007-09. c. £35,000).
- Partners in a PMI2 project on ‘Preventing school bullying: Cross-national perspectives on intervention’ (with SNU, Korea) (headed by Prof Peter Smith; April 2008-09 c.£28,170).
- Funding from DCSF to examine ‘The effectiveness of anti-bullying strategies’ (headed by Prof Peter Smith; Oct 2008-10. c. £156,000).
