What is the relationship between the final film and the accompanying essay?
The essay is meant to be a theoretical/technical analysis of the material presented in the final film. It could be a direct commentary on the film or it could address issues closely related to the subject of the film. A film about a UK environmental activist group, to give an indicative example, could be accompanied by an essay about the history of such a group or it could be about environmentalism as a platform for New Social Movements and only distantly related to the actual film project.
