The Graduate Diploma in Contemporary Art History
The Graduate Diploma in Contemporary Art History is a conversion programme for graduates of other disciplines who wish to carry out research at higher levels in the fields of modern and contemporary art history and visual cultures.
The Diploma sets out to be both introductory and experiential. Rather than provide conventional chronological surveys, the programme explores chosen themes in the history of art and visual culture, addressing these within an interdisciplinary context.
For information about how to apply, and details of course structure and content, please see the prospectus entry for the Graduate Diploma in Contemporary Art History.
Testimonials
"The Graduate Diploma in Contemporary Art History is a very rich programme. I enjoyed all the materials that the course introduced us to. Every day was challenging. It was great to have opportunities to encounter breathtaking ideas in contemporary art theories raised by the lecturers. Consequently I gained a lot of knowledge about new ways of thinking about art in a short period of time." -- Kosuke Tsumori (full-time student 2004-2005)
"The Graduate Diploma in Contemporary Art History has precipitated me into the twenty-first century and has given me the critical tools to engage with contemporary visual cultures. The Core Course provides the essential foundations and the range of options and special courses is so diverse that I found it hard to make choices!" -- Tricia Butt (part-time student 2004-2006)
