Paddy Dolan (PhD Sociology, 2005) is a sociologist working at the Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland. Though Paddy undertook his research degree at Goldsmiths on a part-time basis, he spent an academic year there during 2000/1. Paddy’s doctorate uses figurational theories to explain the development of consumer cultures and identities in Ireland. His research interests have since broadened to include sport, childhood, emotions and politics, but he’s still an Eliasian!
