The Academic Skills Centre runs a variety of one-to-one tutorials with our experienced team of academic lecturers, study skills tutors and professional writers.

Academic Skills Drop-in

These 30-minute sessions are given by the Academic Skills team.

When  Thursday 29 August 10am-12pm
           Thursday 12 September 10am-12pm
           Thursday 19 September 10am-12pm

Where Opposite the Library helpdesk (ground floor)

Bring A piece of work to discuss and questions you would like answered

Booking Arrive up to 30 minutes before the first tutorial to register. The tutor will put out a white board with a sign-up sheet for you to register on. Spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

These tutorials will be limited to no more than 3 per term.

Subject Librarian Drop-in

These 30-minute sessions are given by the the Subject Librarians team and will cover topics such as finding references, navigating e-resources, Zotero trouble-shooting and library skills.

When  Monday 19 August 10-11am and 2-3pm
           Tuesday 27 August 2-3pm and 3-4pm
           Monday 2 September 10am-12pm and 2-4pm

Royal Literary Fellows

These 50-minute tutorials are given by Royal Literary Fund Fellows (RLFs). Their main aim is to promote good writing practice across all disciplines. They are professional writers who help students improve their writing skills.

See gold.ac.uk/asc/royal-literary-fellows for more information and booking details. The Royal Literary Fellows last day for 2018/19 will be 30 May. Tutorials will resume in October 2019.

These 45-minute tutorials are given by specialist study skills tutors.

Booking You must book your session in advance at the student centre (RHB 117) Booking has now closed for 2018/19. Booking will resume in September 2019.

Cancellations Email the studentcentre (@gold.ac.uk) if you are unable to attend an appointment. Please give at least 24 hours’ notice.

These tutorials will be limited to no more than 3 per term and can only be booked up to four weeks in advance.
