Event overview
Pulitzer-prize winner Lawrence Wright’s career as a staff writer for The New Yorker has taken him from in-depth, narrative reporting of Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State to developments within America’s neglected heartlands. To coincide with the 15th anniversary of the Centre of Investigative Journalism, he comes to talk about reporting as craft, his career as a writer and his new book God Save Texas.
Lawrence Wright is the author of God Save Texas: A Journey Into the Future of America, Going Clear and The Looming Tower: Al-Quaeda’s Road to 9/11.
He will be in conversation with CIJ Director James Harkin.
The CIJ is an independent charity committed to the education and training of journalists, editors and researchers towards critical in-depth reporting and defence of the public interest and is housed at Goldsmiths.
