‘Friends in the frame’ is a multimedia work by Tim Segaller celebrating some of his closest friends, through portraiture in three media: film, visual art and writing.
It’s also a meditation on themes emerging from the work: the nature of friendship, the essence of selfhood, meaning and purpose, and the components of the ‘good life’.
This exhibition includes the portraits with short commentaries, and a 15 minute highlights film of the interviews.
For full commentaries explaining all the elements of the portraits; to see all the films; to get the accompanying book; and to get in touch with Tim – visit friendsintheframe.com
About Tim Segaller
Professionally, Tim Segaller is a personal & executive coach, mindfulness trainer, and facilitator. Away from work, he likes doing creative things. He has no formal art training, nor does he claim to have much technical ability. But he’s enthusiastic about creative practice – for self-expression, personal growth, and sheer pleasure. This exhibition is the culmination of a project he embarked on in 2014 combining various creative interests, his fascination in what makes people tick, and his love for my friends.
Tim is indebted to the Open Book project at Goldsmiths, which supports people from non-traditional backgrounds into Higher Education, for making this exhibition possible. In his day job as a coach and trainer, Tim does some work for students of the Open Book project.
